Specialist Background

Dr Arif Shahar received his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM) in 2005; conferred with the Royal Education Award from the Majlis Raja-Raja. He obtained Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 2011. In 2016, He completed his sub-specialty training in Endocrinology locally.

Dr Arif was formerly an Associate Professor at the International Islamic University Malaysia and has written multiple publications in local and international journals; including articles and books.

As an Endocrinologist, Dr Arif has special interest in diabetes, thyroidology, osteoporosis and pituitary disorders. A proponent of medical and health education, he always believes that patient empowerment is key to long lasting health.
